Lincoln Top National League with Macclesfield & Grimsby Town Lurking
Lincoln City sit top with Macclesfield Town grinding the gears of rivals Grimsby Town (3rd) in the current form stakes over the last 8 games. The Silkmen do edge it on goal difference but the Lincoln Loco is gathering steam game by game and the away form is something to be proud of.
Thanks as ever for reading Rose Tinted
Lincoln go for four wins on the spin on Wednesday night at Boreham Wood. A potential banana skin at the newly promoted club struggling to adapt in 20th, the Imps can take solace from having the fourth best away record in the division.

Lincoln City Stats On Sunday
Lincoln face Worcester City in an FA Cup repay on Tuesday after a 1-1 draw yesterday. It is a must win game at the Bank for both sides who gave as good as they got on a heavy pitch. Sinsil Bank a carpet in comparison should play into the hands of the Imps with pace of our own in Robinson and action Jackson.

Neil’s Stats on Monday
Tom Miller’s two assists at Luton Town were ultimately undone by three errors at the back, but it does not detracted from a fine personal performance that rightfully earns him this weeks man of the match award. We should not be too hard on Brown and Farman who have played their part well this season, but Nick Wright does need to learn to pass.

Prof’s Head-2-Head Luton Town V Lincoln City
Luton Town’s 3-0 win over Dartford FC lends some hope to the chances that there could yet be goals in a game between two sides averaging a goal a game for and just half a goal against per game. John Still and Gary Simpson both set their teams to go out and play passing football but for both defence appears to be the best form of attack. The Imps took 574 to Barnet last week suggesting this could well be the divisions highest gate of the season, but it is certain to be a defining moment for both sides. Luton can catapult themselves from 11th to the play-offs with a win whilst the Imps could go third.
Thank you for reading The Prof

Saturday 21st Sept KO 3PM
Hello everyone, it’s your learned Prof here from the University of Lincoln. After another slim win this would be one 1-0 to the mighty Imps that would go down a treat. Lincoln face Luton, the Manchester United of the Non-League pyramid, a David V Goliath encounter. Luton should not be here, the 30 point deduction smacked of an agenda, with a budget and fan-base most League 1 teams would love. It shows the harshness of the two up two down system.
But enough of the politics, let us look at the facts and stats and remember that games of football are only won and lost out on the pitch.

Neil’s Stats on Wednesday
Nuneaton Town beat Hereford Utd 2-1, Cambridge Utd drew 1-1 at Alfreton Town and Kidderminster won away at Tamworth 3-0 , but the Imps still sneak up to 4th thanks to a draw for Barnet, and defeats for Grimsby and Forest Green Rovers. It was another terrific team performance with Farman and Miller rating a 9 just behind Newton who edges it with a 10.
thanks for reading Neil Gentleman-Hobbs.
To follow a combined stats on Wednesday, as ever lets get straight in ‘Boycie style’, starting with the match stats & table plus the normal player ratings, minutes, fouls cards and of course concise heroes & villains (goal machines, creators & card collectors count). The full blow by blow a view from the Stacey West Match report is available here – it shows the Imps superiority, even though Southport had more shots off target,

Stats Imps 1 Southport 0 Bring On The Hatters.
The Imps look set to take hundreds to Luton Town on Saturday after another 1-0 to the Mighty Imps scoreline. Southport FC shaded the chances but the Imps took their’s thanks to a Miller header from a lovely ball from man of the match Newton. Lincoln mixed it up and dominated possession even if we rode our luck at times. Wright also missed a penalty suggesting Power will take the next one that comes our way.

Profs Head-2-Head – Lincoln & Southport FC
With Southport FC, FC Halifax and Salisbury City closing fast and the Fishy foe now level, Professor Allbeanz-Present takes a statistical look at the Imps & Sandgrounders ahead of tomorrows vital game. We must win this one ahead of Luton Town on Saturday. If we do we are back amongst the challengers, if not , the 11th placed Sandgrounders could leapfrog us as they, Salisbury City and Halifax are just a point behind the Imps.
Thanks for reading The Prof – it all adds up don’t you know.

Neil’s Stats On Monday – Its Newton Again
A great performance against Barnet FC, after the Salisbury City disappointment, now for Southport FC just a point behind us in 11th. Note that Salisbury City find themselves one place and one point behind the Imps in 9th but their goal difference is 4 better than the Sandgrounders. Puts it in context: maybe that was not the two-year home horror show some felt it to be?
Sean Newton edges the MoM against Barnet, his 3rd of the season, after the late late assist. It was another team performance with Power and Nolan also worthy of a 9. Power was inspirational as the advanced trio put the skids under the Bees at the earliest opportunity.
thanks for reading Neil Gentleman-Hobbs.
To follow a combined stats on Monday, (apologies a day late due to The Richard Butcher book commitments). The full blow by blow a view from the Stacey West Match report is available here – it shows the Imps superiority,

Neils Stats – Heroes Don’t Become Zeroes Overnight.
Ben Tomlinson just about earns the MoM against Salisbury City. His tireless running – once again through the pain barrier – throughout the game illustrated the frustration of TEAM LINCOLN as we failed to overcome a club that came and parked the bus. We will get plenty more of that this season, at a venue where even a point is seen as earning enough of the scalp. It is frustrating for both the players and the fans but who would not have taken 13 points and fourth going to Barnet. Harsh perhaps, but heroes do not become zeroes overnight, The flexibility in formation (4-2-3-1 Wrexham et al, 4-3-1-2 Dartford & yesterday plus the willingness to change to 4–1-4-1 and even flat 4-3-3 and 3-4-3) is a refreshing change, but if we want 100% consistency we need a far bigger budget than just over £400k! That isn’t going to happen so let’s not be to quick to shoot the geese that have already laid 13 precious eggs.
thanks for reading Neil Gentleman-Hobbs.
To follow a combined stats on Sunday starting with the match stats & table plus the normal player ratings, minutes, fouls cards and of course concise heroes & villains (goal machines, creators & card collectors count). The full blow by blow a view from the Stacey West Match report is available here – it shows the Imps superiority, although the lack of a plan C (the manager moved from a 4-3-1-2 diamond back to his 4-2-3-1) with a big target man option was evident. They will cost money even on loan unless Sunderland and Middlesbrough are feeling generous. It appears something the manager has in his plans, with a loan budget and targets in mind.
