Arsenal Giant Killing Is Lincoln’s Only Chance of Glory

Arsenal Ladies are the defending Continental Cup final holders but Lincoln City Ladies soon to become Notts County Ladies could give the Cathedral City at least one more honour before they wave Impdom goodbye leaving the city without a women’s Football club for the foreseeable future.

Arsenal will be the favourites if League form is anything to go by, but the LadyImps who reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup have done well in the Cups despite an inconsistent season that sees them second from bottom with a game to play. Arsenal traditional runaway leaders in the Women’s game can do no better than third this season after losing three points due to an illegible player.

Both fixtures have been draws this season with the most recent on 5th September finishing 0-0. Lincoln Ladies are the only adversaries that Arsenal have failed to beat this season, thanks to the meanest defence in the ladies game.  The Gunners have won 39 trophies in their illustrious 21 year history while the Lady Imps have yet to lift any silverware with club’s soul triumph being the surprise granting of a Women’s Super League franchise. It’s certainly

David V Goliath this one. Good luck Lady Imps and goodbye!
