Vanarama Conference Wrap – Results, Reports Heroes & Villains
Posted by savethemightyimps
Barnet FC, Bristol Rovers & Wrexham FC win, FC Halifax and Gateshead FC draw whilst Torquay UTD and Woking FC lose on a musical chairs day in the Vanarama Conference. The Mighty Imps get back to winning ways to stunt the Silkmen’s progress. Oh lordy lordy what a Day it has been in the people’s Premiership. Let us take a look at the results, crowds scorers and the all-new link to all the reports of today’s games from the local folk who were there and care.
Thanks as ever for reading STMI
Bolstered by a lad who scored 124 goals last season the Buzzy Bees stung FGR 2-1 with a late one. The usually reliable Akinde missed a penalty before Yiadom spared his blushes as Barnet took a 13th minute lead. FGR who had lost 3 points for an ineligible player seemed to have clawed one of them back when Sinclair pounced to stab home on 88. The entire travelling hive swarmed and N’Gala got the killer blow at the death.
Halifax drew 0-0 at Braintree to move up a place after the Gulls crash landed 3-4 at bottom club Telford with the lead changing hands four times in an incredible game (see our new fixtures layout and click report for the blow by blow – and have a bottle ready its a blast). Bristol Rovers are really stepping on the gas with a 1-0 win at tough as old boots Southport. Winger Gosling struck on 13 to send the Gas rising to fourth.
Gateshead have Danny Wright to thank once again as another invaluable strike got them a home point against Aldershot with just two minutes to go. He tucked home an unplayable cross from wide-boy Rodman who is having the time of his life up on Tyneside. Wrexham put the derby injustice behind them with a 3-0 slaying of Eastleigh. Durrell struck on 12′, York on 27′ and there will be no bashing of The Bishop in the valleys tonight as he came from the bench to knock one in on 71′.
But enough of the banter ’tis time for a blow by blow with reports warts and all………………..
