A wee taster then…………..

Boreham Wood went ahead with a 6th minute Angol penalty before the H bombs hit back to make it 2-1 in front of a respectable 600 plus crowd (full reports below). Whitehawk had well over double their normal average with the locals appearing to respond to the ambition. One of those shipped in to help was Lincoln’s Kabba who got a cracker to level matters but the Hawk when down by the odd goal in seven in an edge of your seats encounter.  Basingstoke also edged a five goal thriller at Concorde Rangers. Ebbsfleet, by far the best supported team in the division, won three nil at Farnborough to continue their climb to fourth, now just two points from the summit.

Conference South Preview & Current Form

Loud & proud Havant & Waterlooville, Boreham Wood Sutton United, Bromley FC , Eastbourne and Basingstoke Town  and Whitehawk are contesting a fantastic Conference South play-off and promotion contest this season.  Whitehawk, having struggled on the goals front, pushed the boat out for the 210 faithful by signing Lincoln City nearly man Sahr Kabba a proven goal machine at Conference South and Grass roots level. He makes his debut at Bishop’s Stortford today.

If you find yourself free on a Saturday and down that way the Conference South  is the place to be. (all serve a good pint and great food). Welcome to the Conference South  Preview including the quick fix last six fixtures and current form plus the table. It really is a fabulous League this year with Havant & Waterlooville, Boreham Wood, Sutton United, Bromley FC,  Eastbourne and Basingstoke sure to be there or thereabouts.   Whitehawk have sought to reverse a losing trend by bringing in Sahr Kabba from Lincoln on loan.  As the least supported team in the division (210 average) the prolific goal machine will hopefully still have plenty of help when it comes to finding his shooting boots during a  six-week stint.  The shortest member of the Lincoln six-foot soldiers squad by a foot (he is 5′ 4″ tall) Hawk will get a terrific talent who got 10 Conference South goals for Havant last term. Kabba stats here

One In From Burnley FC and Two Out To Boston United & Whitehawk

Burnley FC centre-half  and left-back Tom Anderson is set to make his début at Aldershot tomorrow after his youth loan papers were just about rushed through today. He knows the division well after loan spells FC Halifax Town, Barrow and Hyde.

Burnley rate the lad highly and he certainly has the battling qualities we need. The 21-year-old began his career at Turf Moor and captained their youth and reserve teams before almost slipping the net through injury. However following  rehab this summer he did enough to earn a new deal at the newly promoted Premier League Club.  A tenacious tackler he earned 5 yellows in an eighteen match stint in the Conference Premier for Barrow

This from the Burnley FC official site shows the lads character

Spotted at Grosvenor Youth and Portaferry, Tom has represented his country at several age groups and won his first U21 cap in October 2013.  Tom also reached the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup in 2012, Conlan was given a two-year professional contract by the Clarets in April of that year.
The left-back was initially released from the club in the Summer of 2014 but following a return for rehabilitation on a knee injury, Conlan impressed manager Sean Dyche with his attitude and was picked as a trialist in a pre-season friendly against Accrington Stanley and rewarded another one-year deal in September, 2014.

Boston Bag Connor

Our beloved young super-sub and nearly man Conner Robinson has gone on loan to Lincolnshire rivals and Conference North Side Boston United on a four week loan.

Whitehawk  Kabba Coup

Sahr Kabba has joined  Conference South contenders  Whitehawk FC in an attempt to get match fitness. The prolific goal machine should find his confidence during a six-week stint.  The shortest member of the six-foot soldiers squad by a foot (he is 5′ 4″ tall) STMI’s money is on a roaring return from a player  who got 10 Conference South goals for Havant last term.
