Nolan: Everton Class Beginning To Blossom In Imps Midfield Maestro

Jon Nolan was an Everton FC reserve regular in his teens and it is starting to show with a technique, sharpness, bravery as well as shooting and passing ability, that has seen the 21-year-old getting a lot less credit than he deserves at the heart of the Imps midfield.  His two goals have been jaw-droppers, his passing princely and that rebuilt confidence is beginning to shine on through!

Thanks for reading Neil Gentleman-Hobbs.

Jon went through the Everton Youth system, making regular U18 and reserve appearances, indeed many were surprised that he did not make the cut,  Alas his Goodison dream was not to be, as he and terrific fellow talent Moses Barnett trialled at Watford, who only dithered due to financial issues at the time in 2010. So Jon elected instead to join Stockport along with, ex-Crewe and Macc striker John Miles and Tranmere youth product Ryan Fraughan. The competition might have been easier, but ‘from frying pan and into the fire’ comes to mind, as crisis club Stockport continued to fall from grace.

That kind of train-wreck can leave lasting scars but Gary Simpson seems to have rebuilt the lads confidence suggesting he can kick on from here. This season has seen him grow to the extent that one can almost forget he is only twenty-one years of age. with an assured distribution, two cracking goals and all-round game that is lacking just one thing. John simply needs to believe in himself a little more, despite his tender years and up his game by another 10% – because once he steps out of his new comfort zone the Blue Nose is destined to shine and catapult the Imps up the league.

Jon has the technique and ability to be a regular at Championship level at the very least and should view the Skrill Premier as his springboard to the fame and fortune he is destined. This can be his formative playground and as he continues to deliver that Goodison Park promise the Imps and the young lad will benefit on and off the pitch. The Imps would not stand in his way if a bid came along either, so it is now up to Jon to add the world to the ball he already has at his very very gifted feet.
