FA Cup Draw Sees Imps At Worcester or Rugby

Lincoln will face Worcester City or Rugby Town away from home in the 4th qualifying Round of the FA Cup. The two sides drew 0-0 this weekend with the replay set to take place on Tuesday 15th October with a 7.45pm Kick Off at Butlin Road, Rugby.

The Imps will be eager to emulate last season’s cup run when we beat Halifax 2-0 in a replay, after a frustrating 0-0 at home, to progress to the first round proper.  A tough tie against Walsall in free-fall at the time saw a spirited 1-1 draw at home before that 3-2 thriller away on a famous night.  A third home draw saw Lincoln share a six-goal thriller against eventual champions Mansfield, who triumphed 2-1 to deny us a lucrative home tie with Liverpool.

With funds just as vital this time around the £12,500 prize money would come in very handy along with 40% of the gate.  The first Round proper also affords the opportunity of meeting a League team with £18,000 in prize money going to the winners. It could fund those £1500 away trips and the target man we need.
