Mansfield loan Briscoe Aiming To Spoil Imps Feast at Nuneaton
Former Port Vale & current Mansfield Town Winger Louis Briscoe has joined Nuneaton on loan to potentially edge the top of the table clash with Lincoln City today. If he can supply the bullets to Moult who has 9 goals so far this season and Brown, with four, the Imps could be in trouble, then again he scored against us twice last season and cost us an FA Cup money-spinning home glamour tie against Liverpool.

Port Vale released the promising youngster after just four games but Louis has already bagged 62 goals from 252 appearances, including a goal in his only England C game. Still only 25 Briscoe has played just twice this season with just a 20 minute cameo in League 2 and a start in the League Cup in a 0-2 defeat against Scunthorpe, which saw him withdrawn after 73 minutes. He can play as a centre-forward, right or left winger. He played 44 games last season scoring eight times and delivering seven assists. He scored in both FA Cup games between Lincoln and the Stags as well a BSP game against Nuneaton.
Nuneaton have played a flat 3-5-2 for most of the season but Briscoe, frozen out at the Stags was a life and soul of the promotion party last season. He can play on the left or the right of midfield, as well as anywhere in a front three suggesting a tactical switch today. The chances are he will start, with either Bell missing out on the left or Streete (at centre-back) moving forward into midfield at the expense of one or possibly two of the existing three central midfield players, depending on whether Boro go 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 allowing Briscoe to operate in a midfield trio.
