4 Point Haul From Luton & Hereford Would Be IMPressive
If the Imps can go to Luton Town and Hereford United and come back with 4 points then the Bank would really be rocking for Hyde at home. It would be so nice to see the first three thousand plus crowd of the season rolling up to see us go top!
Rose tinted looks on the bright side of life
Still and Foyle are two of the Conference’s cleverest managers, poles apart in terms of money, they have still amassed decent squads. The Hatters are hitting top form after a 3-0 win over Dartford but are prone to draws suggesting Simmo could nick a point or even 3.
Hereford have just signed Brodie on loan to go with young ex-Imp Sam Smith. Smith is joint top scorer with handful Rankine and Paul Green has also joined another ex-Imp Josh O’Keefe in Foyle’s patchwork quilt. The Bulls have lost the last 3 and are languishing in 16th with eleven points on the board. They go to Halifax on Saturday and need to reverse the trend. Finances are hard for both the Bulls and the Imps but here is where we must be ruthless and get all three points.
The Imps have been criticised for a lack of penetration lately, but the the clean sheets are stacking up showing that 4-2-3-1 is hard to beat. But it does facilitate good passing football and with a bit more luck it will yield goals. Nolan’s strike at Barnet apart very few balls have dropped for us in the box, despite the crosses from Newton and those throws from Miller. Rowe, Thomlinson and Nolan have also been keen to shoot but alas their efforts have been marginally the wrong side of the post. Todd Jordan has also come in and been brilliant on the left of midfield.
The chances will come and they do say you earn your own luck in football with good and bad fortune evening itself out. It took until the 95th minute last Saturday against talented Barnet, showing this side has fight and the stamina to stay the course.
