Simmo’s 6 Foot Soldiers Aiming For 3rd
The Imps were a little unfortunate to find themselves down to 8th after bossing Barnet FC for long periods. But with Southport travelling poorly and Luton Town losing 2-0 to Wrexham FC, two games in five days could see us third with the Lincoln Loco promotion journey gathering some steam. Then its a trip to the Bulls with Hyde at home on the Saturday.
Rose Tinted sees us going top at home against Hyde in two weeks time.
The 574 Imps – thats absolutely fantastic support and belief for a 3 hour trip – had to wait until the last kick of the game, but they kept the faith until Nolan raised the North Stand roof to nick a point. It was no more than the team deserved and the six-foot soldiers will look to get three points tomorrow to set them up for a massive encounter at Kenilworth Road on Saturday. Win that and get a point or more at Hereford, then we can certainly get the Lincoln Loco out of the engine shed!
The morale in the dressing room is sky high with the squad determined to restore the faith at Sincil Bank. The Imps have won three and lost one at home and will want strengthen the Fortress to put an even broader smile on the faces of the fans who have backed them so passionately away from home. The manager and the players feel they need fear no one in the division, confident they can match and exceed anyone on their day.
Fairhurst could return after a virus and Nick Wright could start, Yussuf is still struggling suggesting he could yet win or lose his fight to sustain a living out of the game. Nolan, Rowe and Neutron bomb Newton will doubtless be doubly determined to get one over on their ex-Hatter colleague Hattersley. Tomlinson looks due for a goal or two after another battling performance at The New Hive. The lad is only just trailing Boyce in the foul charts such is the work-rate being put in throughout the squad.
Come on Imps, someone has been due a hiding, so get yourselves out in numbers at home because it could be tomorrow.
