MOTM: Wilkin pips Money, Davids & Simmo
Nuneaton boss Kevin Wilkin beat off the Cambridge Utd, Barnet FC and Lincoln City managers to claim the manager of the month award after a 2-1 win at Grimsby Town. He and Simmo have defied massive budget disadvantages to take early play-off positions with just a point between the two.

Money, or lack of it was rightly part of the decision making process as part-time triumphed in the face of adversity, otherwise the Cambridge duo of Jez George and Richard Money would have just about pipped it. Many will also say the anti-media buzz is still costing us, sour grapes there, but Wilkin has earned this accolade, complete with the customary poison challis that sees a defeat or two in the following month. The Boro opened with a 1-0 victory at Macclesfield Town, beat last season’s runners-up Kidderminster and drew with pre-season favourites Forest Green Rovers, a side the Imps beat. Away from home saw a draw at Barnet rounded off by that 2-1 win at Grimsby Town on Saturday.
The player of the month goes to Luke Berry of Cambridge, his outstanding strike separated the two sides when the Imps travelled to the Abbey on the Tuesday, but his Brace against Tamworth was class as the Black and Ambers finished the week top. Sean Newton, Andrew Boyce and Thomlinson have been outstanding in every game, but the boy Yussuf is the STMI nap for next month.
