Neil’s ImpStats On Sunday – Anything But Negative

Greetings fellow Imps the unbeaten record may have gone against Cambridge United but there is still the 100% home record to protect against Wrexham on Monday.   To follow a combined stats on Sunday  with the match stats away at Cambridge plus the normal player ratings, minutes, fouls cards and of course goals count.

Thanks for reading Neil Gentleman-Hobbs

An outstanding 474 travelled to The Abbey to see perhaps the best display of the season. The tactics were anything but negative – going gung-ho would have seen us hammered – as the 4-2-3-1 stood up to one of the strongest teams in the division  and away from home to boot. Their budget is 3 times ours so understandable Cambridge sit top. Yes we lost but if Lincoln had scored we would have gone on to win it (according to a reliable United contact even their manager Jez George said that after the game) The Imps shaded the possession (52%/48%) and enjoyed more shots (7 on target to their 3 plus the goal) with Farman making two saves to Maxwell’s 6 (includes 2 crosses claimed).  We will play far worse and win, Boyce bettered even his own impressive start to the season and in shackling Cunnington deserves this weeks STMI man of the match.
