Nat Brown – Our Consistent Terrier
Nat Brown the former Huddersfield Town, Lincoln City, Wrexham FC and Macclesfield Town box-to-box centre back is still putting in the Terrier performances we love at 32 years of age. Nat was STMI MoM against Macclesfield and came pretty close against Woking and Forest Green Rovers.
Thank you for reading Neil Gentleman-Hobbs
Nat has battled and held the defence together brilliantly with Boyce, Gray and Newton as well as the two defensive midfielders, both this season and last. He has the highest player ratings so far this season with 25 from 3 games – an average of 8.3. Yet to be booked he epitomises the word terrier and is having an outstanding start showing the youngsters the way both in the air and in the tackle. Nat Brown, made a heroic loan return to Impdom last season, going on to play 10 games – half with an injury – and was inspirational and integral part of that successful survival bid. Brownaldinio is back at the Bank, fr a year at least, where we are guaranteed bravery, thrills and a few spills. But then that is the mark of a man who wears his heart on his sleeve and the protective band on his wrist.
Here is an STMI biopic & carear stats
A popular figure at Moss Rose he fell fallen down Kings pecking order allowing the Imps to cut an emergency loan deal. Nat is the sort of brave talismanic figure a side needs and his presence in either box has seen him pop up at vital moments with heroic results. Brown was an unsung hero at the Imps and always gave it his all after joining us from Huddersfield in 2005.
Nat enjoyed play-off success with the Terriers in 2003/04 and did well at the Imps under KA, who resigned him at Macclesfield. A wrist injury saw him drop down Schofield’s pecking order before Jacko agreed a ‘by mutual consent’ deal that allowed him to move to Wrexham in June 2008. An initial loan became permanent and he would go on to become a rock at Macclesfield under Keith Alexander and then Simmo, popping up with some vital goals to back up those consistently inspirational performances.
He is one of Simmo’s reliables, with an infectious manner on and off the pitch, who is here to finish a job he KA, Richard Butcher and Gary started many moons ago.
