Impvasion 700 -1000 are Cambridge Utd Bound

Lincoln City look set to travel in numbers to Cambridge Utd. With Wrexham FC visiting on Bank Holiday Monday the Lincoln  Loco looks to be gathering steam after Forest Green Rovers well played gladiators were dealt a massive blow courtesy of the double assist and brilliant brace from the Newton and Fairhurst respectively.

Cambridge and Wrexham will be tough asks, just like FGR. United sit top, level on 7 points with the Imps but with a 3 goal superior goal difference. The Black and Amber gamblers have an incredible squad with such strength in depth that the rested Cunnington and Hughes on Saturday allowing Arnold and Sam-Yorke to partner big Berry instead.  United beat in-form and previously unbeaten Aldershot 1-0 and even missed a penalty to keep things tight against a side who are chewing into a 10 point handicap rather swiftly.  Cambridge United play a powerful 4-4-2 with Money seemingly calling the shots more and more at the expense of gaffer Jez George. Wrexham play 4-3-3, truly poetic football for this division, with Keates at their heart. The Dragons sit 14th, but are only a win off the Imps after a 2-2 draw at big-spending Tamworth (unbeaten & 10Th). The dragons have won once, drawn once and lost once with 6 goals going in at each end so far, treble the Imps 3 for and 1 against.  There should be a decent crowd as the Dragons travel well (perhaps 3-500) and Monday’s game will be an open and attacking spectacle between to passing sides that would have really showcased the division but alas the Imps are still not part of the BT Vision.

With two games so close together will the manager be tempted to rest goal machine Fairhurst for the Wrexham game or go with the flow now he is back in the groove? Three-four points from these next two games would be just the job at this stage of the season. A win at Cambridge would put us top – a pressure in itself –  but even a point would be a triumph for the hundreds of Imps set to travel.  A decent result would also boost the gate for Monday as the Imps aim to hold on to a 100% home record.

  1. Last season you took about 200 at the same time of the season. Being un-beaten after 3 games isn’t going to quadruple that is it?
