STMI Skrill Guide: Hyde Call In some FL Favours

Rochdale FC’s fee for Hogan has allowed Hyde to raid Preston NE, Blackpool FC , Oldham Athletic, Stockport County and Morecambe to build a side that looks as if it can punch above its weight and survive against all the odds once again this term. The season long long from the Tangerines for the inspirational Tomsett is vital and shows that goodwill is still alive and well in the North-West.

Scott McNiven did a fantastic job last year with the consolation mission accomplished way before the 1-5 defeat at home to the Imps on the last day.  In truth they travelled well putting up a spirited display in the face of overwhelming odds. Hyde and Nuneaton have the lowest budgets in the division yet admirably every fan hopes they continue to punch above their weight, unless of course it is at the expense of our own clubs survival.

Scott has used his resources, boosted by a decent fee for striker Scott Hogan (there are lucrative add-ons too should Dales Hill sell him – Birmingham are still monitoring his progress), very wisely again this season promoting ex youth captain Fitzgerald from within.  The defence is also strengthened by the addition of young Preston full-back Adam Thurston and the rather more experienced Will Haining from Morecambe.  He has brought in three midfielders that do come as some surprise however give their clubs.  Matt Mainwaring comes in from relegated Stockport, Connor Hughes from Oldham and the reassuring season long loan of Liam Tomsett from Blackpool. Striker Tom Collins is another great catch from Stockport.

No one should put an instant downer on anyone’s season, so STMI wish Hyde well in what will be a perennial struggle unless a bigger sugar daddy can come in to assist an already supportive board.
