STMI Guide Kidderminster Harriers Look Contenders

The Harriers have raided Doncaster Rovers, Mansfield Town, Luton Town and Cambridge United to strengthen an already enviable squad, that went from bottom to top with that 21 game hot streak to fail just at the last in the play-offs. Kidderminster, Luton and Grimsby will vie for the title this year  but the Harriers forward line will certainly take some stopping.

With just Briggs and Collins released manager Steve Burr just keeps on making the Harriers stronger.  Leading BSP goal machine Gash has made the loan deal from Cambridge permanent, although 20 year old young gun Joe Lolley has also joined after banging in 88 goals in 83 games for Littleton in the Midlands Combination.  As if the midfield was not blessed enough Fowler comes in from Doncaster, Tolley from Mansfield, Dance from the Hatters and another unknown, winger Dior Angus a whippet with a wicked cross.  Grimes has also come in as back-up to a defence that has ex-Imp Gowling, Dunkley,Demetriou and Vaughen.

Burr rode out the storm, added Josh Gowling – who was no good for the Imps – then only tinkered with a well oiled machine when injury or the odd tactical change from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 was required. Fair is fair, Kiddy deserved to go up last year, the football was sublime, but two results near the end cost them. They did not choke, so lets not look back in anger, because this quality side is unlikely to need to make up that much ground again.
