STMI Guide Hereford – You Gotta Fancy Fantastic Foyle

Despite the turmoil Foyle has raided Shrewsbury, Chester & Aldershot, snapped up York City, Luton Town &  Grimsby Town cast-offs; then gone for trialists and a season long loan for Cambridge striker & ex-Imp Sam Smith.   The way he turned around Sam Clucas, injuries permitting, Smith could be the signing of the season.

6th was an incredible achievement for the Bulls, but then they have Martin Foyle, a brilliant manager (he and John Still are surely the top 2 in the SPL) who gets the best out of players and slender resources time and again.  He will cannily use the loan market this season, with 4 to go after the one for Smith -a typically shrewd one just for starters. If Sam gets injured he can send him back if not he has a 15-20 goal man for just a contribution towards wages.

Mr Foyle has also picked experience to help the lad and, the Bulls to plunder some goals; picking Aldershot’s pocket for Rankine, added Walker from Luton, with trialist Jon Brown coming in to complete the strike options.  Brown can play anywhere across the front line and  has played in Australia, Belgium and Thailand before playing for Telford early doors last year. Winger Pilkington will be a good replacement for young Sam Clucas, the ex-Imp is already covering himself in glory and subject to Forest continuing to monitor his progress.

In midfield, Purdie is a smart acquisition from the Shrews, as is Artus (on his day) from Grimsby, whilst Edwards gets another bite at the cherry (Foyle feels he can come out of his shell, just as Sam Clucas did) at the Bulls.  In defence Dominic Collins joins from Chester and Chris Bush from Gateshead.  Back up keeper Lloyd-Weston joins from Market Drayton.
