Imps Shed Stripes In Not So New Look Kit

The New Lincoln City shirt (Blackburn Rover’s 2nd strip or what!) will be available for the Boston game after all, however the traditionalists will not be happy.  The red shirt with one white stripe on the chest and a white band on the right arm is available to view here on the official club site, but it is the Rovers second strip bar The Bishop’s Mitre emblazoned on the shirt thanks to sponsors Bishop Grosseteste University. On the positive side we, will hopefully get god onside, but in reality one must question the choices open to a club like Lincoln when they tie themselves to a major kit manufacturer.

Fans were not happy with the pyjama kit a few years ago, but with so many season ticket sales this season and the air of optimism around the place the club will surely still sell more shirts than the previous year. This will certainly please kit partners Nike and Sport Pro Club who  have managed the club shop since 2011.   As part of the move over to Nike supplying the clubs kit, the summer after we were relegated,  the Imps got a club shop  refurbishment by Nike’s professional football club partner, Just Sport Pro Club.

At the time the ex-CEO (Mr Prescott) explained what would happen when Nike took over as kit suppliers:

“Our partnership with Nike means that there will be a new full range of home and away kits for next season and we are looking forward to working closely with Just Sport Pro Club, who will take over the management of the retail outlet at Sincil Bank Stadium.”

Michael Heslop, Sales Director for Just Sport, said: “We are pleased to welcome Lincoln City into the Nike family and confirm we will be supplying match and training kit from the start of the 2011/12 season.

“I am sure the supporters will be happy to see the Lincoln City badge alongside the world-famous Nike Swoosh.”
