Impvasion Of Harrogate

The Imps travel to Harrogate Town (their President is Leeds United legend David Batty – now that was a proper example of an old school midfield General). The Town are an ambitious club who have players on the books on the same money we are paying thanks to the backing of Irving Weaver, father of former Imp Simon Weaver, who is the current manager.  Kick-off has been brought forward to 7.30 PM tomorrow.

Harrogate had Matt Bloomer, Peter Bore, Colin Larkin, Paul Bolland and two from Bradford City on their books last season, finishing 6th in the Conference North, just outside the play-offs. Town also beat Torquay to progress to the second round of the FA Cup

The club has invested heavily again this term, including goal machine Tommy Wright, who joined from Tamworth in June. Inspirational Lee Franks and Ashley Worsfield have arrived from Alfreton for undisclosed fees, whilst their team-mate Anton Brown came on a free. Chris Hall has arrived from  Stalybridge Celtic and Craig Nelthorpe from Gainsborough.

Town play at the scenic Wetherby Road Stadium, capacity 3800, with 500 seats and averaged a credible 434 last season.
