To cut to the chase

It is great to see Mike Rance and Andy Scott back involved with Macclesfield with loyal servant John Askey at the helm.  So far he has tapped his Preston contacts for two players and raided fallen rivals Stockport for another. As ever the budget will be tight but Crewe may also help out further after taking Audel for a fee.  Holroyd will be a goal machine at this level

A quiet one so far although the trialists and late bargains must be the chosen route for Town.  Street is a great utility capture and Kevin Wilkin will add more to replace the 8 released.

Salisbury City

The smallest City in the country have appointed the youngest manager in Football after the Darren Clarke joined Wardie at Bristol Rovers. Mikey Harris is just 28 and has been promoted from within despite some stiff competition. Survival is the name of the game this year, but although no one has left during the summer he has some tough decisions to make and quick

Ex-Boss Liam Watson has signed 6 Southport players from his old club leaving new boss Alan Wright with something of a clean deck.  Danny Hattersley and Jamie Milligan look two useful acquisitions for a manager who is confidently targeting the play-offs.  He should not be written off with contacts at Villa, Blackburn, Blackpool and Fleetwood as well as experience playing at the highest level as a cultured defender.  Southport are STMI’s dark horses for the play-offs.
