Awesome Alan Powers Back
Determined to show what Nottingham Forest and Hartlepool United, saw in him Alan Power has returned to training in better shape than when he left. With the Captaincy comes responsibility, but Alan feels he owes it to the fans and himself to surge into the season and to embrace the stiff but healthy competition of Stockport County imports Nolan and Rowe.
Team-mates and the coaching staff were amazed at his physical condition as they went through the looseners of the first day. He has worked on his strength and stamina, keen to adopt a strict diet that is essential to any athlete who wants to strive in their chosen sport. STMI will not be going to go into terms like ‘buff’ etc although a lady Imp – we use the term loosely in this instance – has provided part of the tip-off. (If only we could print half the stuff that comes in! Please also use your real email addresses as we always back up and verify stories)
The player of the Year last season may not have much to prove to fans, but he owes it to himself (and of course the team) to realise his full-potential. He is an undoubted schemer and talent that went from the Rushden frying pan into something worse at Lincoln. However this is a new dawn and Team Lincoln look set to up their game this season. Alan will grow into the role and be a much better captain than the former pointer and shouter who held the role.
With the expectation levels somewhere near the Sincil Bank floodlights before a ball is even kicked, captain Alan Power has certainly shown the way by well and truly hitting the ground running.
