Ex Captain Signs For Boston

Boston have signed former Mansfield Town, Rushden & Diamonds, Crawley Town, Stevenage Borough and Kettering and Lincoln City midfield dynamo Gary Mills.  Holdsworth, who has always rated his noble qualities, even signed him and made him Captain last season, at the expense of Nutter.

The BSN is a level Mills will excel at. He loves to be at the centre of things and has the ability to become Boston’s much needed midfield boss, being an instrumental part of Nuneaton’s rise to the BSP last season in 2011/12.

He leads by example in the good times and the bad, i;;ustrated by his time at the Stags, the Imps and Rushden where he spent a large phase of his career, enjoying their football League highs and financial, as well as,non-league lows. It was character building stuff  as he endured their demise, before moving to Bath and then Nuneaton.  Borough would go on to enjoy their third promotion in 4 seasons with Gary a key component in the engine room.   He is a battler, can pass and has sufficient pace and stamina to always turn up to help out or motivate his team-mates pace. He backs down to no one in the challenge.

His passing is more solid than spectacular, but he is able to unlock a defence with a deft threaded ball.  At 32 he certainly has the experience, let us hope the injuries will not catch up with him over a 46 match marathon, because his heart alone deserves an Indian summer or maybe even two.

Good luck Gary, definitely one to watch.
