Simmo Has Imp Ace Up His Sleeve.
Tamworth will pose a big problem for the Imps, shorn of two six-foot soldiers, when they come to Sincil Bank tomorrow. Alfreton may have beaten them 3-0 but rode their luck needing to clear 3 off the line. Shorn of two big boys and nursing injuries to a small squad Simmo is set to shuffle the pack on Saturday as the Imps seek salvation at the theatre of the absurd.

The Lambs are a big side with two centre backs and three big lads up front including collosus Cunnington, who has banged in 20 BSP goals this season. Their 4-3-3 formation has posed serious problems for the footballing teams in this division as the 2-1 defeat of promotion chasing Forest Green illustrates. Perhaps an illustration of the frustration of the BSP, the Imps beat Alfreton recently, 2-0, playing a similar game to the Tamworth one. We like forced set-pieces and let height and physical presence do the rest.
Simmo, shorn of Tony Diagne and Andrew Boyce, will have to shuffle the pack. But he has a couple of fresh pairs of legs who have been well rested ready for this vital six-pointer. Tony Diagne’s omission will be a big blow, since that crude lunge left him with a deep cut. His Braintree Brace was a Tony tango to embrace as the in your face Imps stormed to victory with grace.
Vadaine Oliver, Nat Brown, Miller and Taylor are particularly up for this one, although the team have put on the tin hats to protect them from any negative hyperbole. At this vital time we Imps need to unite, drag a mate or two to the Bank on Saturday and back the manager and our team. It is always darkest before the dawn. We need to keep the faith if we are to Save The Mighty Imps.
