The Facts & Stats That Worry Impdom

The Hatters turned the screw and the game with two goals just before half-time.  On 41 a Lawless corner causes confusion allowing Martin, hovering just inside the area, to blast an unstoppable rising drive into the top left-hand corner. Just two minutes later the Hatters double their advantage.  Smith beats his man and threads a perfectly timed and judged through ball to Gray who pounces, rounding Farman to slots home from 15 yards.   On 73 a quick free-kick sees McNulty find Gray, his inch perfect pass into Martin’s path allows him to complete his brace, side-footing home from 6-yards.  There was another twist of the knife, Boyce’s tenth caution of the season  will force him sit out the Tamworth and Hyde games, with a two match ban.

Keep the faith and thanks for reading Neil Gentleman-Hobbs

The Imps now find ourselves just one point from the drop zone after Nuneaton won 2-0 at Gateshead to rediscover their form. It could have been worse, Barrow lost 4-0 at Alfreton. That leaves then 4 points behind us with just 2 games to play and 6 points on offer. Stockport, who are now just the one point behind us with a game in hand, did not play, they get their Tuesday get out of jail opportunity next week against Gateshead. In our hearts, the April roadmap was always going to bring it down to the last two games. Tamworth at home on Saturday is just as vital as Aldershot was, because Hyde will be no mugs. They ground out a 1-0 win against a desperate Ebbsfleet last night to all but Sink the Fleet.
