Another Big Tuesday For The Imp Heroes Then!
The Imps go into this one, at Braintree, two points above Nuneaton and three above Barrow, who play Mansfield and Macclesfield respectively. Both Braintree and Nuneaton will also play additional games on Thursday. Gateshead play Grimsby at Boston and Hyde host Cambridge. If all results go our way we could be up to 16th, but if the worst case scenario should occur we could be back below the trapdoor with Barrow level on points, with a game in hand.
A massive welcome to Braintree fans visiting the site for the first time, thank you for reading the Form of the Foe courtesy of Neil Gentleman-Hobbs
Oh ye of little faith, if the 16 Imp heroes – 20 shots on Saturday bless them – can keep up the work-rate and passion we can find 4 points from the trips to Braintree tomorrow evening and Alfreton on Saturday. These days money and points do not grow on trees so you’ve got to pick a pocket or two boys you’ve got to pick a pocket or two! One nil smash and grab – Believe – We Are Imps!

The Iron sit 13th, by virtue of goal difference whilst the Imps sit 20th. The condition of the pitch will play a huge part in things, although it has been a hindrance for the hosts in terms of postponements and the fact that they do better away than they do at home.
The Iron’s home form over the season sees them ranked 20th in the BSP, although it has improved to 10th over the last 5 with 2-0 wins over Luton and Grimsby. Away from home they have an enviable record that sees them sit 3rd in the current form charts. Fortunately we go to their place, although we will do well to score more than one against a very well organised defence, on a pitch that is best described as a swamp. The away section, or Quag End, takes its name from soft and swampy ground.
