Simon Yeo – Come On! Do The Bizz Saturday Imps!

Simon Yeo has urged as many Imps as possible to make the trip to Nuneaton. The ex-Imp legend believes old pal Gary Simpson has got what it takes to steady the ship and get Lincoln back where we  belong with a mental toughness and unity that no club fancied meeting full on, in your face for 90 minutes.

Simon, the last to bag 20 in a season (21) told STMI:

“This club means a lot to me and all of my mates from both sides of the goal line.  But then few who have played for the Mighty Imps under the Keith and Simmo era have anything but good feelings for this wonderful football club. Always have and always will.  And Simmo is the man to put that mentality we had post admin, back into the club. When teams and fans came to Lincoln they knew they were going to get full on commitment. It may not always have been pretty but no side fancied coming up against us.

“Gary has and will continue to bring that momentum and mentality back to the club. He’s always scouting and lives and breathes the game 24/7 even down to training kids and pub sides if it helps out a mate.  That means scrapping until the end of the season to keep us up – mental strength can trump ability in a winner takes all cup tie style bear pit, believe me.  He wont rest then either because next season everyone starts even and he will believe we can push on again.

“Every Imp can play a part,  starting at Nuneaton on Saturday. A 1-0 would do us and a huge and vocal following will get us over the line. Gary knew the challenge he was coming into. He set a target of 12 points for safety.  A win tomorrow puts seven of those points on the board with just another 5 then needed.  It wont be easy but together The Imps can take a massive step towards getting our club back to where it belongs.”

Cheers Si, you legend you – a proper terrace hero who is one of us.
