Woking Held – 11 points To Go For Imps Then Thommo?

The Imps, including surprise signings Nat Brown and Tony Diagne, battled back from an early set-back against Woking  FC to claim a point with a 1-1 draw. Ex-Imp Nutter, out to prove a point, centred, Farman could have done better and Brett Johnson headed home, top left, from a dozen yards. So one minute in and with thrice turned down Thommo salivating and writing the obituaries, would Simmo’s Imps, hold or fold against Woking who had won 5 out of their last 7, including wins against Forest Green and Luton?

We could and were level on 24 minutes when Smith centred for Vadaine Oliver to head  home with aplomb. A battle of attrition then ensued, with a spirited game yielding just 5 shots apiece  but showing that in just two training sessions, Simmo has the Imps up for a fight. They valued the shirt on Saturday and put in a shift. So one point on the board and 11 to go. Just before we get to the stats, no one is asking Tommo to make out the garden is rosy  but as Chris Ashton said on Thursday it is time to pull together for the good of the club.  That said Chris, perhaps you and the supporter director might then take an interest in the Sincil four – now banned since October. Then the Mighty Imps can get back the top class coverage – our Who Is, Stats, Form of the Foe  and a view from match reports are loved by both sets of fans –  that only a truly independent site can bring.
