The 29 year old won the Division Two title with Plymouth in 2003/04 before being transferred to Leicester City for £265,000. He failed to make the grade and was loaned to Sheffield Wednesday after just 5 games. After a successful 7 match loan period, Peter made 36 appearances in three years for the club as well as 5 on loan at Doncaster Rovers.
After leaving the Owls at the end of his deal, Peter earned a short-term deal at Oldham. When Northampton offered a one year deal he quickly opted for the Cobblers and played 31 games in 2009/10. Paul Sturrock, who had been his boss at both Plymouth and Wednesday, then rescued him with a two year deal with Southend. He was released this July after 71 games.
