Who Is Nottingham Forest & Northern Ireland Midfielder David Morgan?

The Imps have taken Nottingham Forest (also a target for Sunderland & Everton) and Northern Ireland box-to-box midfielder David Morgan on loan ahead the Hyde FC game. He is a brilliant replacement for Alan Power as goals against Coventry City and Chelsea (3-4 FA youth cup thriller) illustrate.  He and Mo Fofana or Mills will make a formidable central midfield duo or trio. The likelihood is he will line up next to Mo Fofana on Saturday as captain Mills has been bravely playing through the pain barrier for the last 6 games.

David has strength, pace and is blessed with technique.  The northern Ireland U19, No21,  could be here for the season should things work out, due to his age and the quirky BSP youth loan regulations.  He is a regular in the Forest formative U21 side, bursting through the centre to blast home the opener in a 2-0 win over Coventry last week.  He also scored against Barnsley a fortnight ago. Last season saw a long-range brace against Wednesday (5-1) and another in the 9-1 slaughter of Wigan.

David was scouted in the Milk Cup and joined Forest from Ards Youth from the u15s age group. He is the driving force of our midfield and will play a big part for us if we go to the latter stages of the FA youth cup. He can be described as our deepest lying midfielder as I wouldn’t want to restrict him to the defensive midfielder tag as he often has played for his country pushed further forward.  He has rasping drive from distance that can be very dangerous and of course loves a tackle.
