McCammon & Daley Walk The Sincil Plank – Is this the Imps C of E dawn?

Ex- Gillingham striker Mark McCammon and Plymouth Argyle Winger Luke Daley have had their non-contract agreements cancelled by the club this morning.

Thank you for reading Neil Gentleman-Hobbs

Both players were here on a pay as you play deal and although Luke showed some early promise, in truth both were keeping decent City youngsters like Connor Robinson, who came off the bench to score, on Monday out of the side. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come, with the Chairman starting to get a grip on the ridiculous revolving door policy of a manager who seems to send our young talent out on loan to get match practice elsewhere, whilst bringing in at best average players who can never have the passion that born and bred Imps have. Oh he will say quality costs but Connor, Frazer and Elliott are on very small contracts and have Imp blood in their veins.

Fans will always give the young lads a chance to bed in and we will patiently suffer their mistakes as they learn their trade.  But what many fans – who now refuse to go to games – cannot stand is the way the heart of our club seems to be being ripped out in front of our very eyes.

Super-sub Connor has heart and he kept us out of the bottom four with one touch – even though he was given just three minutes of action to make a name for himself.  He needed 30 seconds, one touch and that could well be the point that saves us this season unless we restart the Lincoln City heart!

Connor Robinson was handed a two year deal by the Imps this season. It is richly deserved after a promising display against Grimsby Town in the Lincolnshire Cup final on Tuesday evening.

Connor has progressed through the youth ranks and was part of the side who beat Chesterfield 3-0 at the B2Net Stadium in April. He also made a substitute appearance for the Imps against Hayes in the BSP last season.

Well played Connor let us hope you get a chance this season!
