STMI Stats Kissock Shines As Silkmen Show Imps Up.
Kissock was the hero and villain in this one as the Imps held the Silkmen for much of the game. The visitors played some great football with the diminutive midfield maestro shining on the Sincil stage with some quality finishing and static Imps defending on three tragic occasions proving to be the difference.

Imps 1931 Silkmen 78
On 12 Mendy and Henry swapped wings with the former undoing Sheridan and Nutter to deliver a low cross that the last minute central pairing of Boyce and Hutchison inexcusably left. Fairhurst controlled a deflection off the referee to drill home into the corner with aplomb, giving Farman no chance. On the half hour and almost out of the blue the miss-firing Imps saw Sheridan feed Taylor, who hit a low drive across Cronin. The keeper should have done better but Taylor earned what little he got again today. Macc were turning on the style second half with the Imps trying to break them down. Kissock was at the centre of things and nearly scored when one on one with the keeper with both players earning a booking just passed the hour. On 77 a long cross field clearance caught the stretched Imps out. Boyce came across and was deemed to have brought Kissock down just inside the right-hand side of the box. Penalty deemed the ref. Farman saved brilliantly to his right from Barnes-Homer and then parried Fairhurst’s follow up. Barnes Homer then hooked home from the right of the six-yard box. An incensed Farman rightly berated a static defence. On 87, sub Holroyd received a pass inside from Winn and chipped into the top right corner of the Stacey West net passed the advancing and despairing Farman, again ridiculously exposed. On 89 more magnificent footwork from Taylor saw his cross go right across the box and into the path of the advancing Boyce. Boycie hammered home a howitzer from 15 yards.
