Imps & Silkmen Lineups – The STMI Teams & Schemes

The Imps take on a Silkmen side getting into their stride with two successive clean sheets, including Wrexham FC.  That said the signing of League 1 marksman Larkin (Hartlepool and Chesterfield FC) up top with McCammon, is not something Nat Brown and Charnock  will look forward too. They can expect worse if in-form Taylor, as we suspect, starts.  Remember your yellow socks for Keith Sincil Salivates…….

Remember your

Stanno Park Football Socks - Yellow

As ever the threat will be down the flanks with Wedgebury and Jackson set to give Nutter and Sheridan (who looks the logical swap for hamstrung Smith), on our left, a busy afternoon.  Sheridan is a good defensive midfield choice and is really up for a home chance.  Henry and Braham-Barrett will also give Gray another busy afternoon, although Mills will hopefully track across as Dayley needs to be our wide force tomorrow. Both the Macc full-backs are great getting forward, but not so great against pace and trickery.

The centre of midfield is a worry as Murtagh and Kissock have bossed the last two games. The former is the grunt and the latter the flair although they do work very well as a pair. Mills will be a busy lad you feel, unless Power can recapture what he is capable of. This you feel is his game to shine.  Wedgbury will also be putting in his usual gritty shift.

Boyce and Miller have been terrific so far this campaign. They are thinkers as well as a cute, combative couple, that snuff out trouble early and seem to understand the zonal job well. Barnes-Homer at 5′ 11″ and Waide Fairhurst at 5′ 10″  are not the tallest, but their pace and trickery will certainly be a test.  Brown and Charnock, both 6′ 1″ will struggle against McCammon 6′ 5″ who will look to get Larkin a debut goal.  Unless of course goal machine Taylor somehow makes it. Bet he starts –  but then why sign Larkin with half an hour to spare?
