Who Is Ashley Dunn?

With the Imps short of funds and midfielders former Fleetwood Town, Bamber Bridge and Witton Albion midfielder Ashley Dunn could be David Holdsworth’s shock new signing to delight the faithful.  Ambition has curtailed the plying of his trade at Northern Premier League Kendal Town as he went in search of pastures new.  Ashley is a competitive lad  and may well be needed with Captain Mills unable to do it all on his own and those rumours over a Power move still doing the rounds as the transfer window clock ticks down.

Ashley is a 23 year old full-on in your face box-to-box midfielder.  He takes no prisoners in the tackle and has a shot like Hot-shot Hamish that will warm a keepers hands or take the back out of the net.  Get him within 10 yards of the box and he will have a crack. He was an ever-present last season has great stamina and has a solid if not spectacular range of passing and decent pace. His chipped assist ensured Kendal claimed 11th in the Evo-Stik Premier last season.

Described by the Kendal OS as their very own ‘Stevie G’ he was voted the Supporters’ player of the season last May. Ashley left ambitious Fleetwood for Witton Albion in 2009, then  Bamber Bridge in 2010. His desire to play at a higher level saw him join Kendall of the Northern Premier for the 2011-12 season. He left in the summer to try his luck higher up the pyramid, but has had no takers.
