Macclesfield May Be Massive Ask But Reg Aims To Be There Or Thereabouts

Steve King has just added Everton striker Scott Brown and Rob Evans (Dagenham) plus defender Carl Martin (Crewe) on loan, on top of the fourteen that came in in the summer. The new man has certainly swept the Silkmen’s decks and they will be a very big ask for the Imps this Saturday. Then again the bigger they come the harder they fall, as far as Holdsworth’s underdogs of war are concerned.  The times may have changed as far as the financial fortunes of the two clubs have concerned but so has our reputation as wIMPS. As the late, great KA, who’s book launch and memory will overshadow this game would say: We’ll be there or thereabouts.

Heroes & Villains

New manager King has cleared the decks bringing in 17 :  8 midfielders –  Henry &  Kissock (both Luton Town),  Winn (Stevenage), Agombar (Grays) Costa (Dulwich),Yiadom (St Neots) plus Kieran Murtagh & Euloge Ahodikpe ;  5 defenders –  Braham-Barrett (Peterborough) Jackson (Wimbledon) Mackreth (Barrow)  Charnock (Fleetwood on loan) Carl Martin (Crewe on loan) ; as well as keeper Cronin (Bristol Rovers) and 3 striker Barnes-Homer (Ostersunds FK) Scott Brown (Everton on loan) & Rob Edmunds (Dagenham on loan).  That’s 12 permanent deals and five loans in what has to be seen as a massive punt to get them back at the firast time of asking. Then again once the TV and transfer money has run out there would need to be a big readjustment if it all went pear shaped.
