Forest Green Rovers Focus

FGR have strengthened the defence with Ed Asafu-Adjaye (Luton Town) and Paul Green (Tamworth) as well as 4 new strikers- Magno Viera (Fleetwood Town), Ben Wright  (Braintree Town) Phil Marsh (Stalybridge Celtic) and ex Portsmouth and Norwich City prodigy Omar Koroma who they feel is over his injury woes.

Thank-you for reading Neil Gentleman-Hobbs

The Green, who are trying to play down their tag as pre-season favourites, are aptly being bankrolled by green energy entrepreneur Dale Vince. They now appear to be a top 3 side on paper, but only promotion will do you feel, given the quality and investment made and the big money being paid.  The arrival of the four new strikers, will bolster Reece Styche and also lighten the load on  midfield matador Yan Klukowski. Box-to-box Yan top scored with 18 last year and was subject to a  50k bid from Luton.  Ex-Lambs captain Paul Green and Ed Asafu-Adjaye, signed from Luton Town, will add a formidable spine to a side that finished 10th last term.

Massive crowd expected for the final pre-season test against Manchester United. Jamie Collins agrees new 1 year deal. Released Callun Henry joins Vauxhall Motors. Two new Defenders, Paul Green from Tamworth and Ed Asafu-Adjaye from Luton. Hereford make double raid as keeper Bittner and defender Kuke Graham leave. Jarod Hodkiss.

50k bid for Yan Klukowski from Luton rejected, the dominant midfielder averages a goal every 4 games. Kieron Forbes and Yan Klukowski signed new 1 year deals although Luton have made an official bid for Yan.

Vice chair Trevor Horsley resigns due to the fact that he no longer has a roll to play under Dale Vince who took over in 2010. The green energy entrepreneur is currently bankrolling the club,, however Mr Horsley does not feel he had a proactive future in the club.
“I’ve supported him [Vince] but I don’t feel I have a part to play anymore.”
