A return to Stripes & Dropping of Celtic hoops.
Chris Sutton’s Celtic connections must have had something to do with the green and white hoops, but that is set to change along with the pyjamas that purport to be the current home shirt. Fortunately the Imps are considering a return to the famous red and white stripes and STMI urges the Lincoln City board to ditch the pyjamas in favour of our proper kit.
With the rumour mill at full speed within Impdom, good and bad, it was nice to hear that the Imps are on the verge of a return to the red and white stripes synonymous with Sincil Bank over the years. The Imps are also said to be planning an all white kit for the away fixtures.
Could Andy Graver – 150 goals in 289 aps – and Johnny Campbell – 110 goals in 110 aps – have powered their way to glory in our existing shirt? No. It would be like asking Wardie, Big Percy Freeman and even Samson who allegedly performed for Delilah, to shave off their excess facial hear. Beards and ‘tazzes may have only ruled the 20’s, 70’ & 80’s but the red and white stripes are forever!
So come on Bob bring back the stripes, ditch the big business kit partner and give us a locally made £29 home shirt the club can get a decent cut from!
