Blue Square Crowd Statistics

Ahead of a Tuesday trip to York and the misfortune of playing Luton at home the following Tuesday STMI thought it time to look at the average attendances and total turnstile clicks in the Blue Square Bet Premier League.

We certainly have to accept that we are in a League that has an average attendance that is just under half that of League Two (4,427)  and a third of League 1 (6,992).  The Conference average currently stands at 1,959  (compared to 1,928 in 10/11 & 2,148 in 09/10),  boosted by Luton Towns healthy 6,151.  However even their well supported visitors for this Tuesday , Stockport County,  have had to announce the cancellation of their coach.

Certainly the economic climate and Christmas is playing a part but why are all the Derby games and tasty fixtures being played midweek? Is it down to police advice because the way things are going they could be biting the hands that feed.
